The Oregon Veterans’ Home – The Dalles (OVHTD) and Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs (ODVA) would like to formally invite you to the Opening Ceremony of the Oregon Memorial Traveling Wall on July 22nd at 10:00 AM at The Dalles home.
The Memorial Wall is shaped in the likeness of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. with the center panels containing the names of Oregonians who lost their lives in Vietnam and on the USS Pueblo. In addition, the panels off both sides of the Wall contain the names of those lost in Panama, the bombing of Beirut, Desert Storm, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom. This is a living Memorial and will be updated with the names of our fallen in any future conflict.
Dr. Daniels, Oregon Department of Veterans’ Affairs Director, will be speaking at the event, along with Linda Adams, Veterans Care Centers of Oregon’s Board Chair, and Steve Lawrence, former Mayor of The Dalles and Vietnam Veteran. This will be a very special event for ODVA, OVHTD residents and our community.
