What is more special than decorating your tree with something beautiful that was hand-made with love?
In this class, students from 2nd to 8th grade will learn the art of glass fusing. Students will work with prefired glass so edges will be smooth. They will have a choice of 1 design out of three to create an ornament for their home or to give as a gift. Students will learn about kilns and what they do to the glass while the project is being fired. They will arrange and glue their project prior to firing. Instructor Stephanie Johnston will then fire the ornaments over the next week. They will be ready for pick-up at The Dalles Art Center by Saturday, Dec 14.
About the instructor:
Stephanie Johnston has been fusing glass for about 11 years and teaching fused glass for about 6 years. She has taught in schools, at The Dalles Art Center, 4H groups and given private lessons.
