On Saturday Dec. 7th Columbia Arts hosts an afternoon of Holiday Art-based Activities throughout the center from 11 to 5 pm. Starting at 11am Kelly Asbridge will be teaching her fused glass ornament class, this class requires registration and a fee, you will make 2 ornaments that you will take home after firing.
Beginning at 12:45 pm Arts in Education of the Gorge teaching artist, Nicole Goldman along with Shelley Toon-Lindberg, will be offering a free Aluminum Embossed Ornament Workshop on Saturday Dec. 7th. There will be 2 demonstrations, one at 12:45pm and another at 1:30pm. The workshop runs from 12:45 to 2:30pm where you will learn the art of foil embossing. Using tools and templates, you will make intricate patterns and designs to create beautiful ornaments for this holiday season. This is a fun workshop, open to all ages and no artistic
ability needed, just the willingness to learn and try something new!
This workshop is offered free with the generous support of Arts in Education of the Gorge.
Also available during this time will be cookie decorating and candy cane creature making. Adding to the fun Emily Vawter will lead a holiday Sing Along for all ages in the theater beginning at 2:30 pm. Our special guests for the day will be Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Art Center from 1pm to 3pm. Beverages and cookies will be available for purchase.
