The talented young performers of Civic Kids are ready to take center stage in Disney’s Newsies Jr., opening Friday, March 7 at 7:00 PM at The Dalles Civic Auditorium.
Directed by Robin Ott, this high-energy production brings the inspiring true story of the 1899 Newsboys Strike to life. Set in turn-of-the-century New York City, Newsies Jr. follows the charismatic Jack Kelly and a band of determined newsboys as they rally together to stand up against powerful newspaper publishers. Featuring show-stopping songs like “Seize the Day” and “King of New York,” the musical celebrates courage, resilience, and the power of young people working together to create change.
Civic Kids productions continue to showcase the dedication, talent, and creativity of local youth performers, providing opportunities for students to shine both on stage and behind the scenes.
