7/9/2022 -7/31/2022 | Here's a short statement by Tony about the work: THE WHALE IN THE ROOM A few years ago, while traveling with my family through the San Juan Islands, we had the fortune of spotting several different pods of Orca Whales. We saw groups of both Transients (large mammal eating) and Residents (salmon eating). It was a moving experience to see these amazing animals searching for salmon, or corralling a seal to train the adolescents how to kill, or just swimming straight on course while half their brain sleeps! I soon decided to dig in, learn more, study their form and make Orca based sculpture. While researching online, I discovered a birds eye view picture of a pod of Orcas that captivated me. Something about this vantage point was impactful. Maybe it’s their silent beauty against the vast and empty ocean. This overhead view made their struggle apparent I could see that some whales were thinner than others, suffering from starvation due to lack of salmon caused by overfishing, pollution, dams, or the changing climate. I decided to start by sculpting one whale and creating a mold to press multiples in the hopes of birthing a pod, however, their form became a mantra that I would repeat with textural variations to elicit the sense of disappearing, dissolution and discorporation. Our impact on this planet and its residents is obvious it has become the whale in the room. more info... |

7/15/2022 -7/31/2022 | Here's a short statement by Tony about the work: THE WHALE IN THE ROOM A few years ago, while traveling with my family through the San Juan Islands, we had the fortune of spotting several different pods of Orca Whales. |

7/20/2022 -7/31/2022 | Here's a short statement by Tony about the work: THE WHALE IN THE ROOM A few years ago, while traveling with my family through the San Juan Islands, we had the fortune of spotting several different pods of Orca Whales. |

7/23/2022 | Home At last Humane Society - Clear the Cans!!Join us Saturday, July 23 and Sunday July 24, for our CLEAR THE CANS event! The shelter is seeking 25 community volunteers for this event, which is critical to providing desperately needed funding for the shelter. Funds from redeemable bottles and cans are a main income source for the shelter, with the goal of raising $250,000 in 2022.Each full semi-truck load of sorted bottles and cans is valued at around $11,000 and helps cover the dramatically increasing costs for food, medicines, supplies and high-quality staff. "It costs nearly $29 per day to house a dog at our facility", said Steve Drynan, Executive Director for Home At Last Humane Society. "Unfortunately, due to theft of many bottles and cans that are in view, it is even more important than ever that we come together to help clear the cans". The shelter has also recently been gifted a very large storage trailer to store bottles and cans to reduce theft and this event will also help the shelter to prepare for the arrival of that large container. Clear the Cans events are high-energy fun affairs with music, excitement and camaraderie amongst people supporting the animals of our community. Volunteers are encourage to bring gloves and a "CAN-DO" attitude. Training, water and snacks will be provided. Location: Home at Last Humane Society, 200 River Road, The Dalles We hope to see you there! It was an experience that would change the shape of his life. He saw a Big-Foot, or "Forest People" as he prefers to call them. This encounter inspired him to travel to find more evidence, to see more wonders, and to speak to others, so that they might understand what occurred. Since his first encounter, Dr. J has been a lightning brand in the Bigfoot world. It's said that if you cannot learn from the mistakes of the past, you are destined to repeat them. Dr. J took this saying to heart and has spent over a decade trying out various techniques. he has traveled from the unexpected eyewitness, to the "I'll get proof" paparazzi, to the habituator, to the habituate. more info... |

7/26/2022 -7/31/2022 | Here's a short statement by Tony about the work: THE WHALE IN THE ROOM A few years ago, while traveling with my family through the San Juan Islands, we had the fortune of spotting several different pods of Orca Whales. |

7/29/2022 -7/31/2022 | Here's a short statement by Tony about the work: THE WHALE IN THE ROOM A few years ago, while traveling with my family through the San Juan Islands, we had the fortune of spotting several different pods of Orca Whales. |
