Second Saturday
Please join us! Ride in antique cars, watch the antique planes take off and land, enjoy living history at its finest!
Join us the Second Saturday of each month when WAAAM gets the engines running. Action occurs between 10am and 2pm. Lunch is served between 11am and 1pm.
Second Saturdays throughout the winter will be held indoors. Weather permitting, cars and airplanes will be taken outside. Otherwise, there will be indoor events including demonstrations, special exhibits and hands on experiences for visitors.
Our antique aircraft, automobiles, motorcycles, tractors, military jeeps and engines all get their day in the sun when museum volunteers get to show visitors that this is not just a bunch of old, dead stuff ... that life goes on for our artifacts!
What Our Volunteers Have to Say:
"A visit to WAAAM on a Second Saturday is bound to make you realize just how easy life is today. Take for instance, the process of starting a car. People don't even give it a thought these days, but in 1917, it may have taken a half an hour just to get the oil warm enough to crank a Model T's engine to life!
"Life was certainly slower in those days, and knowing about how life was back then helps us appreciate so much more what we have today.
"Please join us on a Second Saturday of the month ... or on any day ... and take a step back in time with us."
—Judy Newman, WAAAM Volunteer

Autocross consists of a single car at a time making runs against the clock on a closed course marked by cones. Each run takes about one minute. Speeds are low to medium, generally below 70 mph and driven in second gear. Time penalties are added for disturbing cones or skipping gates.
All participants are also volunteers. Unlike some other NW-region autocross events, NWAA autocross events are full-day commitments. If you are not driving in a given run group, you are required to fill a 'work assignment' while your fellow competitors take their runs. Do not expect to attend only the morning or only the afternoon of the event. If you skip out on working, you will not be allowed to return.
-
Registration online only, contact us if you need assistance.
-
Events are not typically canceled due to inclement weather (in other words, we run rain or shine!)
-
Event is limited to 40 drivers, sign up early!
-
Please read the club rules before registering.

ALEX FALCONE moved from Portland to LA, where, he is "the only comedian and writer living in Los Angeles". He started comedy in Portland where he eventually won Portland’s Funniest Person in 2018 and had a Salt and Straw ice cream flavor named after him which, he explains, is one of MANY things he has in common with The Rock.
Falcone appeared in several episodes of Portlandia, and he recently made his late-night debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert where he mostly just talked about how rad his wife is.
Alex is the author of a young-adult romance novel about a mummy called Unwrap My Heart that Publisher’s Weekly called “unfortunate”. It was briefly an Amazon best seller after he made a TikTok about it. In 2022 he released his debut comedy album Vanilla on 800lb Gorilla Records, which was also a best seller for some reason. Despite these modest accomplishments, Alex assures us that he has somehow remained "down to earth and approachable".
DIANNA POTTER started doing stand-up shortly after celebrating her 60th birthday and hasn’t had time to look back. Audiences can’t resist her unique views of sex, drugs, and crime in the late 70’s; some unintentional incarceration in the 80’s; and more destruction into the 90’s. Dianna cleaned it all up by getting sober in 2000. In 2019 Portland Mercury chose Dianna as one of the Undisputable Geniuses of Comedy, and she took First Place in the 2021 Western Oregon Comedy Competition. Recently, Dianna retired after 20 years of flipping blizzards at Dairy Queen.
NARIKO OTT was Portland’s Funniest Person 2016 and has performed on EPIX, FOX, and the Treefort Music Fest.

Vendors coming together to share their goods with their community. Food Trucks, baked goods, book, art and more. Come check us out March-Nov
Last year, The 6th Street Station, located in the heart of The Dalles, Oregon created this event called "The Station’s Sundays Market".
Every Sunday, from 11am to 5pm, The Station’s Sunday Market sets up shop in the parking lot of the 6th Street Station. Here, vendors from all around the area come together to display their wares, which range from handcrafted art and jewelry to fresh garden vegetables, homemade baked goods, and even books.
The atmosphere at The Station’s Sunday Market is truly something special. People from all walks of life come together to browse the booths, chat with vendors, and soak up the vibrant energy of the community. Kids run around excitedly, marveling at the colorful displays and sampling treats from various vendors, while adults catch up with old friends and make new connections over shared interests.
What makes The Station’s Sunday Market so unique is the emphasis on community. It's not just about buying and selling; it's about connecting with one another, sharing stories and experiences, and celebrating the beauty of human creativity and nature's bounty. Whether you're a vendor looking to showcase your skills or a visitor simply looking for a fun and fulfilling way to spend a Sunday morning, The Station’s Sunday Market, located in Coastal’s parking lot, the old Wendy’s, is a must-visit event that will leave you feeling inspired, refreshed, and deeply connected to the community around you.

Completely gone is the notorious downtown bar, The Vault, and in its place is a midscale family-friendly restaurant and bar with soaring ceilings. Thank you for visiting our place, enjoy the open space, the back patio, and an ice cold draft from one of our 20 plus selections of local craft beers. Also available is a full bar of wonderful cocktails. Take your time here to discover The Dalles with all it has to offer. It's a unique place with 300 days of sunshine and an amazing history that contributed significantly to the establishment of the Western United States and Oregon.
