Chris Bolton has run his own ceramics studios, given numerous workshops, taught both Ceramics and Sculpture at South Seattle Community College, been featured in several solo shows and been juried out of his fair share of exhibits. He currently teaches Ceramics at Columbia Gorge Community College.
As Chris says, "In 1969 a chance encounter with the college pottery studio led me into the lucrative world of ceramics where success has often earned me literally hundreds of dollars a year."
Sally Johnson will start off the evening with questions for Chris then we'll end with questions from the audience. The proceeds from this event benefit The Dalles Art Center. Thank you to the Columbia Gorge Community College for your support.
Schedule for the evening:
6 pm: door open and light refreshments are served.
6:30 pm: Dr. Kenneth Lawson, President of Columbia Gorge Community College will speak about the history of Arts & Culture at CCGC and the on-going collaboration between CCGC and TDAC.

February 10, 2024 February Forum
“Rooted: The Lives of Amos and Hannah Root, Pioneers of Mosier” is the topic of the second program of the Original Wasco County Courthouse 2024 history forum.
The program begins at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10 at the 1859 Courthouse, 410 West 2nd Place in The Dalles.
Research into the lives of her great-grandparents led retired teacher Doris Smith to write her recently-published book “Rooted.” She chronicles the life of her ancestors using family memoirs, articles from historic newspapers, and old black and white family photos. After eloping, Amos and Hannah headed west. They settled in Mosier where they lived for 45 years, improving their farm, rearing eight children, and becoming an integral part of their small community. Admission to the program is free but donations are welcome. There is a TV monitor on the ground floor to serve those unable to climb the stairs. Coffee and cookies will be served after the program. 2024 programs can be viewed as YouTube videos on the Original Courthouse website.       (Photo from Discovery Center collection)

Admission is free for the February programs - Donations are gladly accepted!  - Downstairs monitor for those unable to climb stairs.

Coffee and cookies will be served.
